Resources Outreach Program:
We are excited to add a very needed resources outreach program to Joshua Home's current services and coming programs!
This program will be available to any unaccompanied homeless youth in the Inland Empire, throughout San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
The mission of Joshua Home Resources Outreach Program: Drop-in Center is to provide unaccompanied youth of all ages with needed resources, services and items to keep them safe, healthy and informed while on the streets.
JHROP will offer programs and services in a safe environment to each youth 24/7 allowing for time-off the streets. Services will include counseling, tutoring, academic assessment and placement, independent living skills, sustainability, job training and referrals, and recreational activities. Youth will receive clean clothes, shoes, personal hygiene products, sleeping bags, nonperishable foods and water in backpacks or travel bags, along with a current resources list of assistance in San Bernardino and Riverside counties and more.
Ultimately, we want to see each of these youth in accepting, safe, stable, healthy and loving homes. Meanwhile, Joshua Home along with many other area organizations, corporations, agencies, businesses, schools, professionals and individuals will provide the following services, goods and more, (voluntary and optional):
- Spiritual Guidance
- Family Reconciliation Mediation
- Health Screenings (provided by medical professionals)
- Academic Assessment and Placement
- Job Preparedness and Referrals
- Hot Meals
- Recreational Activities
- and more
*Backpacks and travel bags will be given to each youth who needs one, and will include items that fit inside, as well as but not limited to:
- Thermal Under-garments
- Personal Hygiene Products
- Nonperishable Foods
- Sleeping Bags
- Any Survival Gear
- and more
*Contents of backpacks/bags will change based on the season and items available.
